ASN - Aids Support Network - San Luis Obispo County
Welcome to ASN

About ASN
The AIDS Support Network, or ASN, has been serving the San Luis Obispo County Community since 1984, assisting our neighbors, friends and families who are living with HIV disease and AIDS. With the help of dedicated staff and volunteers, ASN works diligently to stabilize clients' health - financially, emotionally and physically, at no cost to the client.
Working toward a healthy community, ASN also offers prevention education opportunities for schools, church groups, service clubs and businesses. For us, ensuring that everyone understands that this is a preventable disease is paramount.
23rd Annual AIDS Update Symposium
Thursday, March 22, 2012
11:30 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. / Embassy Suites
Our Update Symposium has moved to springtime. We always strive to examine topics that can inform us all about the health of our community. This year’s symposium will take a look at the early days of HIV/AIDS and the lessons learned from them (with a special showing of “Life Before the Lifeboat”). We will also gauge the impact of hepatitis C on the community and specific populations within the community; and we will discuss the psycho-social ramifications of being a young person newly diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.
We encourage all to attend. As health care providers, as Licensed Clinical Social Workers or Marriage and Family Therapists, as HIV/AIDS educators or as concerned community members, our 23rd Annual AIDS Update Symposium will present you with important aspects of HIV and AIDS treatment and care. Our charge in understanding HIV and AIDS is to keep current and find the answers to as many questions as possible for ourselves, our clients and our patients.
ASN will be offering CEUs for nurses and mental health counselors. The registration fee is $55 before March 1st and $65 after March 1st. Please give us a call at 781-3660 for more information or click here to register.
